Overview
Vacuum box testing is a proven method for detecting through-wall leaks in plate seams, fillet welds, and tank floor plates. A transparent box is sealed over the test area; vacuum is applied while a bubble-forming solution is observed. Formation of bubbles indicates a leak path. The technique is widely used during tank construction, repair, and API 653-type floor inspections.
